Our Leader

Unquestionably, the Leader is a very important person in the company. He directs the work of other programmers using his own experience. In our company, Maciej Dziergwa is such a person - check out his competences.

A unique blend of technical and economic studies, as well as the experience in programming and management.

The company chairman is the Leader – Maciej Dziergwa. He was one of the pioneers using and popularizing Plone in Poland.

Education

Received programming education at the Poznań University of Technology, majoring in Programming and Information Systems Use. He earned his title with a dissertation on: "XML databases in digital libraries". He earned master's degree with a dissertation on: "Universal XML Repository".

After completing computer science studies, he continued to study Business Communication and Promotion in the Wielkopolska Business School.

During the following years he completed MBA studies in the Wielkopolska Business School.

Experience

As a student, he was a member of the BooBoo Computer Science Club, and the Club Council member. He also gave lectures for other students. For many years he wrote for IT industry magazines, such as: Software 2.0, Software Extra, Magazyn WW, or PHP Solutions. He was an active programmer at eCom Resources, while developing PHP-based internet applications. At the same time, he worked as a project manager and a programmer for Goodwill Investment & Finances, where he developed internet solutions with the Zope and Plone technologies.

His experience with Python started in the Netherlands, when he programmed for Alt Control Internet Communicatie, using the Python, Zope and Plone technologies and RDBMS systems.

He developed his skills working for companies from all over the world. He started a cooperation with BPMi Web Solutions from the Netherlands, where he coordinated the work of Plone programmers. Next, he programmed for Direct Interactive, an American company based in New York. He cooperates with Isotoma Open Source Software Consulting from Great Britain and Edition 1 Web & Data Intelligence from the Netherlands.

In 2005, together with partners (among others, from the Netherlands), he opened the Alt Control Internet and Communication Poland Sp. z o.o. company that three years later would become STX Next Sp. z o.o. Since mid 2011, the company is named STX Next Python Experts.

Workshops and accomplishments

In 2002, he was the finalist of the Tamino Academy contest organized by Software A.G. The purpose of the contest was to develop an innovative solution with the use of XML and the Tamino Native XML Database.

In 2005 - 2006, he participated in training sessions and lectures for InMoST regarding, among others: software testing , project management and planning, time estimation.

In 2005 he participated in the "First things first" training session related to time management by Franklin Covey.

Since 2006, he has been a member of the XPrince consortium, which was created at the Poznań University of Technology, and his main task is the propagation of knowledge related to the XPrince methodology, its development and practical use.

He participated in a series of InMoST lectures and workshops devoted to software development. They included issues such as: innovativeness in IT companies, requirements engineering, innovations in software development, classical and agile methodologies of software development, monitoring of IT projects, or planning of IT undertakings.

Additional activity

In 1999 - 2004, he actively participated as the BooBoo Computer Science Club Council member and lecturer.

In 2002, he gave the "eBanking" presentation for SIFE Poznań.

In 2002 - 2003, he was a member of the Java User Group in Poznań.

In 2004, he edited texts for magazines devoted to Python and Plone. He wrote for "Python i Zope", "Oracle " and "Python".

He also wrote articles: "Zope", "XML in Python", "PyXML – advanced use of XML", "Create own portlets in Plone", "Report from the Polish IT Congress", "XML in PHP4 and PHP5", "XML documents in an object database (Fastobjects)", "Discussions on the Internet. Setting up a discussion group.", "Jetspeed", "XML in issues and data storage", "Review of PhotoLabs", "Apache Jakarta", "Architecture of XML databases".

The same year he created and managed the www.plone.org.pl and www.taniec.org.pl community portals.

It is readily visible that Maciej Dziergwa is a person having extensive knowledge and experience acquired all over the world. Business and computer science studies enabled him to manage the company efficiently and merge his passion with profession.
