Discovery workshops are a 7-day process during which we validate and refine the idea for your product from the user, technology, and business perspectives.
The process consists of workshop sessions with your team, as well as our internal work, to ensure the product is ready for development.
You’ve been working on an idea for months and are about to make some big decisions. You likely have a basic understanding of what you want your product to be, but you don’t yet know either one or more of the following:
If you decide to trust us with holding discovery workshops for your product, you will benefit from:
We mix design sprints, Agile practices, and UX techniques to create a unique workshop method unlike any other. Because we’ve done it many times already, we’re able to produce a complete set of deliverables quickly. We’re essentially compressing months’ worth of work into 7 days.
These hand-picked professionals will give you their full and undivided attention, undisturbed by any distractions or side projects. You will benefit from their experience, lessons learned, and the knowledge gained from both their failures and successes. Additionally, you will have access to the expertise of other specialists at STX Next.
STX Next’s whole approach to product development, including an on-site discovery workshop, is extremely valuable. In addition to delivering a robust, well-performing web and mobile app, their team is highly organized, proactive, professional, and trustworthy overall.
We’re confident enough in our ability to deliver within 7 days that we offer a fixed price for workshops.
However, if the work on our end takes longer than estimated, the additional cost is on us.
No commitment. Doing discovery workshops with us doesn’t mean you have to move to development with us later on.
You’re free to send the results of our work to other vendors, for other estimates and proposals. Our deliverables are descriptive, self-explanatory, and visual, which makes them easy to digest for professional software vendors and freelancers around the world.
Get a reduced price for startups. If you have a startup that needs fast validation with your target audience, consider our startup bundles.
Remote workshop sessions are more compressed from your point of view as the client, but our team also works in between these sessions, as well as after the workshops come to a close.
In practice, it usually comes down to our workshop team having:
Session 1
Session 2
Session 3
People involved:
Client & Stakeholders
Product Design Lead (User perspective)
Product Consultant (Business perspective)
Tech Expert (Technology perspective)
Each workshop is preceded by 2 days fully focused on pre-work on your project done by our team. Then, when we meet with you for 2 full business days (in some cases 3 days), we don’t work from scratch.
During that time we focus on:
Introduction and workshop objectives
Wrap-up, next steps, and action points
After the 2 days together, our team continues working on the project for another 2 days. That time is devoted to further research, digitalization, and forming recommendations.

Our process has been perfected over the many times we held the workshops for other clients. At this point, it’s bulletproof. Additionally, we put in a lot of pre-work before we even meet with you—we don’t start from scratch, which saves your time. Basically, we come in with an already existing interpretation of the scope. Finally, the workshop team consists of as many as 3 experts. They challenge the product from 3 perspectives: business potential, user experience, and technology. All of these speed up the work a lot.
The workshops are fixed-price, because we are sure of our process. If it turns out the work on our end takes longer that estimated, the additional cost is on us.
All we ask of you is to share your domain expertise during the sessions. You don’t have to make any additional preparations, unless you have some business presentations or market analysis—definitely do share those with us. If not, your knowledge as a stakeholder is all we need. We’re going to share questions we want to answer before each session, so that you can assess whether you need any additional prep.
The price is the same. That’s because in the case of remote workshops, a lot of work is done before, in between, and after the sessions. A great portion of the discovered material is processed by us during internal sessions and during post work. That’s why even though you put in fewer hours, we put in even more. This is necessary given the shorter attention span and limitations regarding group dynamics that emerge during remote work.
There’s no one-size-fits-all model and every workshop is designed specifically for each client. You also don’t need every little feature to get your product off the ground. That’s why you should contact us to agree on the list of deliverables that are needed to get your project moving.
