How Permira’s Investment Team Got Hands-On with Agentic AI and n8n Workflow Automation

Permira, one of the world’s leading Private Equity firms, partnered with STX Next to give its investment team practical, hands-on agentic AI and n8n automation skills through a co-designed training programme and hackathon delivered across London and New York.

STX Next and Permira’s Value Creation team co-designed and co-delivered a structured training program tailored to the investment team’s daily workflow. Permira’s operational expertise shaped the curriculum throughout, with real investment tasks used as live examples.

The program ran in two phases across both locations:

Phase I - Online

1.5-hour online introductory workshop covering the foundations of n8n, an automation thinking framework, and a live workflow build.

Phase II - onsite in london and new york

4-hour onsite hackathon. Participants worked through a cold-start troubleshooting exercise, guided pair programming, and a custom challenge round in which teams built workflows tied to their day-to-day work.

Supporting materials included pre-session baseline content, security guidelines for the self-hosted n8n configuration, and troubleshooting cheat sheets for ongoing reference.
